Located on the Modesto A. Maidique campus of Florida International University in Miami, the Patricia and Phillip Frost Art Museum offers an inspiring cultural escape. Originally founded in 1977 and renamed in 2003, this accredited Smithsonian Affiliate was even named Miami's Best Art Museum by the Miami New Times in 2009.

You should visit to explore a world-class dedicated facility designed by Yann Weymouth, featuring a breathtaking three-story glass entrance atrium and nine distinct galleries illuminated by natural light skylights. Inside, you will discover a vast permanent collection of nearly 6,000 objects. You can admire contemporary art from the United States, Latin America, and the Caribbean, alongside American printmaking from the 1960s and 1970s, photography, and Pre-Columbian objects dating from 200 to 500 AD.

The museum also showcases the historic Metropolitan Museum and Art Center Collection, which features 20th-century paintings, Asian and African ancient bronzes, and Japanese Netsukes. As you wander the grounds, you can enjoy outdoor sculptures lining the lakeside Avenue of the Arts, or check out work by talented BFA and MFA graduates in the Betty Laird Perry Emerging Artist Collection. You will also find a museum shop and café on the ground floor.
