Museum of the Imperial Palace of Manchukuo

Located in the northeastern corner of Changchun, Jilin province, the Museum of the Imperial Palace of Manchukuo—also known officially as the Palace Museum of the Manchurian Regime—is classified as a AAAAA scenic area. Designed as a miniature version of Beijing's Forbidden City, this 43,000-square-meter complex served as the official residence created by the Imperial Japanese Army for Puyi, the last emperor of China, during his role as head of state for the Japanese puppet state of Manchukuo from 1932 to 1945.

You can explore a unique blend of Chinese, Japanese, and European architectural styles divided into an administrative outer court and a residential inner court. Step inside the Russian-style Jixi Building to see Puyi's private quarters, and walk through the luxurious Tongde Hall, famous as a filming setting for Bernardo Bertolucci’s *The Last Emperor*.

Throughout the site's historic halls, you will see the relocated Manchukuo Throne, official artifacts, historical photographs, wax figures, and exhibitions detailing World War II atrocities.
