Located in the Xingning District of Nanning City within Guangxi, China, the Nanning Mosque offers you a unique look into the region's rich history and Islamic heritage. Originally constructed between 1644 and 1661 during the reign of the Qing dynasty's Shunzhi Emperor, the mosque was relocated to its current site in 1717. Although it was destroyed during the Cultural Revolution, the site was rebuilt in 1981, allowing visitors to appreciate its modern incarnation.

When you visit, you will see a distinctive three-story structure spanning 1,890 square meters (20,300 square feet) that displays classic Islamic architectural features, including a conical roof along with arch-style doors and windows. The building is designed to accommodate approximately 200 worshipers across its three functional levels. As you explore, you will find a restaurant area situated on the first floor, while the second floor houses an office, a meeting room, and a dormitory room.

Heading up to the third floor reveals the mosque's dedicated prayer hall. It is an insightful stop for US travelers looking to experience Nanning's diverse architectural styles and historic resilience firsthand.
