You will find the Bonde Palace located in Gamla stan, central Stockholm's historic old town, positioned right between the House of Knights and the Chancellery House. Widely considered a premier monument of the Swedish Empire era, this striking building was built in the 1660s as a private residence for Lord High Treasurer Gustaf Bonde. Today, it serves as the home of the Swedish Supreme Court after centuries of housing key civic institutions like the Stockholm Court House and Town Hall.

As you visit this historical monument of national interest, you can take in the grand exterior façades embellished with Ionic pilasters, decorative festoons, and portraits of Roman Emperors. Look out for the preserved 17th-century cupolas crowning the northern wings, along with the mid-18th-century architectural adjustments that shaped its low hipped roof after a major fire. Stepping into the surrounding streets of Myntgatan and Riddarhustorget places you directly on the grounds of dramatic Swedish history, where major historical events occurred right outside its doors.

You can even observe how the nearby 19th-century Vasabron bridge roadway makes a sharp detour around this intact structure, standing as a proud testament to preserved Swedish heritage.
