Originally constructed as a stone wall around Stanley Park to prevent foreshore erosion, this famous landmark has grown into the world's longest uninterrupted waterfront path. Extending far beyond its original park boundaries, the continuous seaside route stretches 22 kilometers (14 miles) from Coal Harbour, winding around Stanley Park, past Sunset Beach, around False Creek, and through Vanier Park to Kitsilano Beach Park.

Total paths connect all the way from CRAB Park to Spanish Banks. As the most popular feature in Stanley Park for both locals and tourists, the pathway provides a magnificent marine walk for pedestrians, cyclists, and inline skaters. Along the original Stanley Park section—which spans approximately 9 kilometers from the Vancouver Rowing Club to Second Beach—you will discover rich history and scenery.

Keep an eye out for Brockton Point, Prospect Point, Lost Lagoon, and Siwash Rock, where a commemorative plaque honors master stonemason James "Jimmy" Cunningham, who dedicated his life to building the wall.
