Originally intended as a temporary seat before another cathedral project was abandoned, this remarkable Gothic Revival church stands as a historic sanctuary bounded by Elizabeth, Charlotte, Creek, and Edward Streets. As you step inside, you will experience a cool, refreshing atmosphere beneath arced lightweight plaster ceilings.

The cruciform structure, crafted largely from local Brisbane tuff and freestone, features sandstone towers with spires, an impressive altar, the Jubilee Pipe Organ installed in 2000, and the modern Blessed Sacrament Chapel at the rear. You should definitely take time to appreciate the striking stained glass art. Sunbeams shine through imported Munich windows, casting vibrant colored patterns on the walls and floor.

Don't miss the famous "Mayne" window by Harry Clarke above the sanctuary, or the grand window over the main door depicting Christ's ascension.
