Set along the shores of Lake Formosa inside Orlando's Loch Haven Cultural Park, The Mennello Museum of American Art offers you a serene cultural retreat inside the historic Howard Phillips house. Owned and operated by the city of Orlando since opening on November 22, 1998, this intimate destination sits right across the street from the Orlando Science Center, Orlando Repertory Theater, and Orlando Museum of Art. When you visit, you will experience a rich collection of American paintings and sculptures.

At the heart of the museum is its permanent collection of works by Earl Cunningham (1893–1977), generously donated by Winter Park residents Marilyn and Michael Mennello. As a recognized Smithsonian American Art Museum Affiliate, the venue frequently hosts exceptional rotating exhibitions showcasing traditional and contemporary American creators, including past Smithsonian-organized shows highlighting Pop Art, New Deal artists, and Harlem Renaissance masters. Outside the main building, you can stroll through beautiful grounds and explore an outdoor sculpture garden that showcases captivating abstract sculptures created by artist Alice Aycock.

Whether you are delving into classic folk art paintings or admiring modern outdoor art beside the lake, this museum provides a lovely, rewarding glimpse into the vibrant story of American artistry.
