Ontario International Airport is located two miles east of downtown Ontario in San Bernardino County, California. Positioned about 38 miles east of downtown Los Angeles, it covers 1,741 acres and features two parallel runways. Owned and operated by the Ontario International Airport Authority under a joint-powers agreement, this Southern California airport serves as an efficient regional gateway for commercial passengers while also functioning as a major West Coast cargo hub.
Passenger operations at the airport are organised across Terminal 2, Terminal 4, and a separate International Arrivals Facility. While international flights depart from the main terminals, incoming international passengers arrive at a dedicated facility housing U.S. Customs and Border Protection. Major domestic and international airlines operate across these terminals, offering access to numerous destinations while providing convenient bus links to regional Metrolink rail lines.

Lost, delayed or damaged baggage at ONT
If your checked bag doesn't turn up on the belt, act before you leave the baggage-claim area — that's where every airline keeps its Baggage Service Office.
- Go to your airline's Baggage Service Office in the baggage-claim hall of your arrival terminal.
- File a Property Irregularity Report (PIR) and get your file reference (WorldTracer) number. Keep your bag-tag receipt and boarding pass.
- Track it online using that reference on your airline's baggage-tracking page — most bags are located within 24–48 hours.
- Claim your essentials. On delayed bags airlines reimburse reasonable interim purchases (toiletries, clothing) — keep receipts. International trips are covered by the Montreal Convention.
- If it's truly lost (generally after 21 days) or damaged, file the claim at the same office — damage must be reported before you leave the airport.
