Located 24 miles northeast of Cincinnati in Mason, Ohio, Kings Island was built by Taft Broadcasting to relocate flood-prone Coney Island. Opening in 1972 on a site situated between Interstate 71 and the Little Miami River, the park was created to stay competitive and showcase Taft's Hanna-Barbera brand. It later changed hands through KECO, Paramount, and Cedar Fair before merging into Six Flags Entertainment Corporation in 2024.
Spanning 364 acres, this major amusement park features over a hundred attractions, including fifteen roller coasters and a 33-acre water park named Soak City. The park's grounds are organized into nine distinct themed sections. Visitors can explore original zones like International Street, Planet Snoopy, Oktoberfest, Coney Mall, and Rivertown, as well as modern additions including Action Zone, Area 72, Adventure Port, and Camp Snoopy.
