Set near Cleebronn in Southern Germany, Erlebnispark Tripsdrill spans 77 hectares (190 acres) in total. Opened in 1929 when founder Eugen Fischer built a windmill with a slide and restaurant, it holds the title of Germany's oldest amusement park. Following WWII and a 1946 lightning fire that destroyed the mill, Eugen's son Kurt rebuilt it in 1950 and steadily expanded the site into a full park. Today, the resort remains family-owned and managed by Kurt's sons Roland, Helmut, and Dieter.

The theme park is laid out around the core theme of 'Schwaben anno 1880' (Swabia in 1880), heavily emphasizing regional originality, fine attention to detail, and construction by local building firms. Attractions bring historic everyday life to life, focusing on traditional themes like bathing, laundry, and local trade. Inside the park you will also find the 'Vinarium' wine museum, which houses Germany's largest collection of wooden spindle presses.

Tripsdrill offers 29 overall attractions spanning rides, museums, playgrounds, animal feeding areas, and a theatre. It is celebrated for signature features including Europe's tallest bathtub flume ride, one of the earliest teacup rides, and major roller coasters like Mammut—Southern Germany's first entirely wooden coaster—and the Karacho launched coaster. Alongside thrill rides, the complex includes a 47-hectare wildlife park home to over 130 species.

Welcoming approximately 600,000 visitors each year with a staff of around 150 employees, Tripsdrill caters to both thrill-seekers and families. While the main theme park section operates from late March to early November, the adjacent wildlife park stays open all year round. Admission tickets to the theme park automatically include entry into the wildlife park, offering a complete multi-attraction day out for travelers to the region.
