Located in Lichtaart, Belgium, Bobbejaanland began in 1959 when Flemish singer and guitarist Bobbejaan Schoepen bought a 30-hectare marsh. After draining the site, he opened a 1,000-capacity venue in December 1961. Influenced by Phantasialand owner Gottlieb Löffelhard, the venue evolved into a full-scale amusement park starting in 1975, shifting its focus from musical showmanship to rides. The park remained under family ownership until 2004, when Schoepen sold it to the Spanish amusement group Parques Reunidos.
Today, Bobbejaanland spans 30 hectares and features around fifty attractions, serving visitors across Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, France, and Germany. Historically, its layout accommodated music spaces, water attractions, an extensive collection of Native American Hopi and Navajo art, and even an educational alternative energy museum alongside its 70-meter wind turbine. In 1995, the park launched Kinderland, a dedicated indoor zone catering specifically to younger children, establishing a multi-generational appeal.
The park is famous for introducing innovative coasters and thrill rides over the decades. In 1989, it unveiled Revolution, an enclosed Vekoma tubular steel coaster holding the record for the world's largest train at 30 cars. Thrill-seekers are also drawn to major modern additions such as the Gerstlauer Euro-Fighter Typhoon and the giant Sledge Hammer frisbee ride. Offering a mix of family-friendly rides, dedicated toddler areas, and intense coasters, Bobbejaanland comfortably suits families and thrill enthusiasts alike.

Ticket prices for Bobbejaanland change by date and season, and the park sells single-day, multi-day and annual passes — buying online in advance is almost always cheaper than at the gate, and popular dates can sell out. Check the official site for live pricing before you travel.
