Located within Silesian Park in the center of Metropolis GZM, Poland, Legendia (formerly known as Silesian Amusement Park or Śląskie Wesołe Miasteczko) offers a convenient local escape for regional travelers. Construction on the site originally began in 1956, and the park officially opened its gates to visitors in 1959. Today, it remains a notable amusement destination in the region.
In 2015, Slovakian company Tatry Mountain Resorts acquired the park and initiated a major PLN 117 million investment. The operator renamed the destination Legendia, overhauled its overall layout, and updated many existing attractions around a central theme of 'Legends'. Spanning an area of 26 hectares, the modified park housed approximately 40 attractions by 2017 to cater to diverse visitors.
Legendia offers a mix of classic family rides and high-thrill experiences. Its modern claim to fame arrived on July 1, 2017, with the opening of Lech Coaster, which debuted as the tallest, longest, and fastest roller coaster in Poland at the time. The park also features historic landmarks like the Legendia Flower Ferris wheel, originally installed back in 1985.
