Last week, in addition to staying at the Falkensteiner Schlosshotel Velden on Lake Wörthersee, I had the opportunity to review and be pampered at the hotel’s special gourmet restaurant “Schlossstern”.
The Schlossstern Restaurant is known over many years not only in Velden, but worldwide one of the most select restaurants for a special meal and exceptional service.
Schlossstern Restaurant by Paul Schrott
The restaurant has been awarded 3 toques by Gault Millau (the most important award next to Michelin stars), as well as 4 stars by A la Carte (94 points) and 3 forks by Falstaff (93 points) and is now the home of Paul Schrott, the well-known 2-star chef (including Weisses Rössl, from Marbella, from St. Moritz, etc.) and my restaurant for the evening at Schlosshotel Velden.
The gourmet restaurant Schlossstern Restaurant is located on the second floor of the historic castle and offers various opportunities to enjoy the menus and be pampered by the excellent kitchen team and service team. Due to the already very pleasant weather in the evening, we had the opportunity to take a seat on the large balcony and watch the atmosphere on Lake Wörthersee in the evening.
After a very friendly welcome by the staff of the Schlossstern Restaurant and presentation of the program for the evening, we could first enjoy the special view and start with a nice aperitif.
After various “greetings from the kitchen” (including oysters) with appropriate explanation and presentation of the culinary program for the evening, the actual menu began.

Conclusion – Schlossstern Restaurant – Schlosshotel Velden Woerthersee
Each course was its own perfectly matched experience, served with the appropriate wine. I have long pondered which course has been my personal favorite, but it is simply not possible to name it, because really every moment was special.
The “Schlossstern” restaurant in the Schlosshotel Velden has, as one can actually expect for a gourmet restaurant, a perfect symbiosis between cuisine and service and a high understanding of the dishes and the appropriate presentation.
The experience at the Schlossstern Restaurant on the second floor was a journey against a perfect backdrop and I would consider it again anytime I visit Schlosshotel Velden.
As a perfect end to the evening (after about 4.5 hours), there was a very informative and friendly conversation with the chef, Mr. Paul Schrott, where there was an opportunity to share different experiences and restaurants.
For a long time I will remember the beautiful impression of the Schlossstern Restaurant and the great view of the big lake in Austria. Also the personal conversation with the chef Paul Schrott left a great impression on me. I was able to collect many special experiences and I am looking forward to many more special moments as a food blogger.
But you probably know that I myself also love to stand in the kitchen. Even if I’m certainly not a gourmet chef, I always pay attention to good ingredients and share my impressions with you. I am happy if I can inspire you.
A very nice experience in the Schlossstern Restaurant in the Falkensteiner Schlosshotel Velden, which is always a pleasure to remember. My culinary journey will certainly go to Vienna soon.
