Santiago do Cacém is an official city and municipality situated within the Setúbal District of Portugal. Covering an expansive administrative area of roughly 1,060 square kilometers, the municipality recorded a population of nearly 30,000 residents during the 2011 census.

Local governance in the municipality is currently led by Mayor Álvaro Beijinha, who represents the Unitary Democratic Coalition. On an administrative level, the territory is organized into eight distinct civil parishes: Abela, Alvalade, Cercal do Alentejo, Ermidas-Sado, Santo André, the unified parish of Santiago do Cacém, Santa Cruz e São Bartolomeu da Serra, São Domingos e Vale de Água, and São Francisco da Serra. The municipality celebrates its annual official holiday on July 25, and it maintains formal international relations through a twinning partnership with Santiago de Compostela in Spain.

Key places of interest include the ancient Miróbriga Ruins, the prominent Santiago do Cacém Castle, and the historic Santiago do Cacém Railway Station.
