Located on the Île de la Cité in the heart of Paris, France, Notre-Dame de Paris is a world-renowned medieval Catholic cathedral and minor basilica. As the cathedral church of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Paris, this landmark is celebrated as one of the finest examples of French Gothic architecture. You will be captivated by its pioneering rib vaults, soaring walls, massive flying buttresses, and an incredible abundance of naturalistic stone sculptures.

Inside, you can admire its three pipe organs, immense church bells, historic altarpieces, and vibrant, enormous rose windows—including the Rayonnant-style north and south rose windows. Notre-Dame also houses some of Christendom's most significant relics, such as the Crown of Thorns, along with a nail and sliver from the True Cross. Having weathered the French Revolution, hosted Napoleon's coronation, and survived a major fire in 2019, the cathedral formally reopened its meticulously restored interior in December 2024.

Whether you are exploring its rich centuries of history or taking in its magnificent architectural detailing, a visit to this iconic French monument offers an unforgettable look at the spirit and heritage of Paris.
