Located 48 kilometers west of Seoul on reclaimed land between Yeongjong and Yongyu Islands, Incheon International Airport serves as South Korea's primary international gateway. Constructed to handle 21st-century aviation demand and relieve Gimpo International Airport, this expansive facility operates as a major Northeast Asian hub for international civilian air travel and global freight traffic.
The airport layout features Terminal 1 with an attached underground Midfield Concourse, alongside Terminal 2, accommodating over 100 boarding gates combined. Terminal 1 serves various international carriers, while Terminal 2 hosts SkyTeam alliance members alongside other regional airlines. Passengers travel between the terminal buildings using the underground Starline train APM system or free landside shuttle buses.
01 Terminals & concourses
Terminal 1 is South Korea's largest airport terminal by area and houses 44 boarding gates alongside a connected Midfield Concourse. It features automated check-in counters and a dedicated Oneworld alliance lounge.
Connected to Terminal 1 via underground transit passageways, this concourse features 32 gates and six passenger lounges.
Terminal 2 serves SkyTeam members like Korean Air, Delta, Air France, and KLM alongside regional carriers. It offers extensive amenities including private sleeping rooms, indoor gardens, a spa, and a culture museum.

Lost, delayed or damaged baggage at ICN
If your checked bag doesn't turn up on the belt, act before you leave the baggage-claim area — that's where every airline keeps its Baggage Service Office.
- Go to your airline's Baggage Service Office in the baggage-claim hall of your arrival terminal.
- File a Property Irregularity Report (PIR) and get your file reference (WorldTracer) number. Keep your bag-tag receipt and boarding pass.
- Track it online using that reference on your airline's baggage-tracking page — most bags are located within 24–48 hours.
- Claim your essentials. On delayed bags airlines reimburse reasonable interim purchases (toiletries, clothing) — keep receipts. International trips are covered by the Montreal Convention.
- If it's truly lost (generally after 21 days) or damaged, file the claim at the same office — damage must be reported before you leave the airport.
Left something in the terminal (not a checked bag)? That's handled by the airport Lost & Found. Items left at a TSA security checkpoint are held by the TSA, not the airline.
