Beijing Daxing International Airport sits 46 kilometers south of central Beijing on the border of Beijing and Langfang, Hebei. Spanning 2,679 hectares with four civilian runways, this major aviation hub serves the entire Beijing, Tianjin, and Hebei region. It complements the busier Beijing Capital International Airport, offering crucial additional capacity while providing modern transit infrastructure and international service capabilities.
The airport features the world's largest single-building terminal, nicknamed "the starfish" due to its central hub and six curved spokes design. This CN¥80 billion facility is structured to streamline passenger flow, incorporating an integrated service building alongside comprehensive ground transportation beneath the main structure to ensure smooth connections for travelers arriving from across China and worldwide.
Daxing functions as a primary hub for SkyTeam alliance members alongside selected Oneworld and Star Alliance carriers. While China Southern Airlines and China Eastern Airlines relocated major operations here, China United Airlines made it its immediate hub. Foreign airlines like British Airways, Malaysia Airlines, and Qatar Airways also operate flights from this expansive modern gateway.

Lost, delayed or damaged baggage at PKX
If your checked bag doesn't turn up on the belt, act before you leave the baggage-claim area — that's where every airline keeps its Baggage Service Office.
- Go to your airline's Baggage Service Office in the baggage-claim hall of your arrival terminal.
- File a Property Irregularity Report (PIR) and get your file reference (WorldTracer) number. Keep your bag-tag receipt and boarding pass.
- Track it online using that reference on your airline's baggage-tracking page — most bags are located within 24–48 hours.
- Claim your essentials. On delayed bags airlines reimburse reasonable interim purchases (toiletries, clothing) — keep receipts. International trips are covered by the Montreal Convention.
- If it's truly lost (generally after 21 days) or damaged, file the claim at the same office — damage must be reported before you leave the airport.
Left something in the terminal (not a checked bag)? That's handled by the airport Lost & Found. Items left at a TSA security checkpoint are held by the TSA, not the airline.
