Located 20 kilometres northwest of downtown Toronto primarily in Mississauga, Toronto Pearson International Airport is Canada's largest and busiest airport. Covering 1,867 hectares with five runways, it acts as a primary international gateway, handling tens of millions of passengers annually. Operated by the Greater Toronto Airports Authority, it maintains US border preclearance facilities to streamline transborder travel.
Operations at Pearson are organised strictly by airline and airline alliance across two active public facilities: Terminal 1 and Terminal 3. The airport serves as the primary global hub for Air Canada, a major hub for Porter Airlines and WestJet, a focus city for Air Transat, and a operational base for Flair Airlines, connecting travellers non-stop to destinations across six continents.
01 Terminals & concourses
Opening in 2004, this 346,000-square-metre terminal features 58 gates across three concourses, including US border preclearance in Concourse F and gates built for Airbus A380 aircraft.
Opened in 1991, this 178,000-square-metre facility houses 46 gates and handles transborder flights with US preclearance in Concourse A, plus domestic and international flights in Concourses B and C.
Reactivated as a seasonal extension to Terminal 3, this 11-gate concourse connects passengers to Terminal 3 via a dedicated transfer bus.
Operated by Skyservice on Midfield Road, this private terminal handles private aircraft with dedicated customs, immigration, concierge, and ground support.

Lost, delayed or damaged baggage at YYZ
If your checked bag doesn't turn up on the belt, act before you leave the baggage-claim area — that's where every airline keeps its Baggage Service Office.
- Go to your airline's Baggage Service Office in the baggage-claim hall of your arrival terminal.
- File a Property Irregularity Report (PIR) and get your file reference (WorldTracer) number. Keep your bag-tag receipt and boarding pass.
- Track it online using that reference on your airline's baggage-tracking page — most bags are located within 24–48 hours.
- Claim your essentials. On delayed bags airlines reimburse reasonable interim purchases (toiletries, clothing) — keep receipts. International trips are covered by the Montreal Convention.
- If it's truly lost (generally after 21 days) or damaged, file the claim at the same office — damage must be reported before you leave the airport.
Left something in the terminal (not a checked bag)? That's handled by the airport Lost & Found. Items left at a TSA security checkpoint are held by the TSA, not the airline.
