Palolem Beach sits in Canacona in the Kushavati district of Goa, India, within 2.5 kilometres of the market town of Chaudi. Positioned about 40 minutes from Margao, the district headquarters of South Goa, this idyllic stretch of coastline is easily reached via Dabolim Airport, located roughly 67 kilometres away, or through the nearby Canacona railway station and local bus services from Margao.

Stretching approximately one mile (1.61 km) long, Palolem features a distinct crescent shape that lets you view the entire length of the shore from either end. The beach is flanked by rocks jutting into the sea at both ends. Its gentle waters increase in depth gradually and feature calm currents, with the shallowest water found at the northern end, making it an ideal, safe spot for average swimmers.

The destination offers a largely unspoiled setting where local fishermen live alongside visiting foreign tourists. You will find relaxed accommodation options along the sand, with visitors staying in shacks positioned right along the shore or setting up base in the main village itself. Its gentle, shallow waters at the northern end make it particularly suited for average swimmers and leisure travellers seeking a calm beach environment.
