South Beach is a vibrant neighborhood forming the southern portion of Miami Beach, Florida, positioned east of mainland Miami between Biscayne Bay and the Atlantic Ocean. First connected to mainland Miami by the Collins Bridge in 1913, the region is bordered to the north by Dade Boulevard. Visitors reaching the area can travel via mainland causeways, local bus routes, or dedicated airport transit lines, stepping into an urbanized coastal district that spans numerical streets running east to west and thirteen principal north-south avenues.

The oceanfront coastal landscape features public beach areas and expansive parks, including Lummus Park stretching along Ocean Drive between 5th and 14th Streets, as well as South Pointe Park at the southern tip. South Beach features iconic, brightly colored lifeguard stands original to the area's design tour history. Beyond the sand, the neighborhood claims the world's largest collection of Streamline Moderne Art Deco architecture, preserved within the Miami Beach Architectural District, which was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.

South Beach caters to international tourists, pedestrian explorers, and shopping enthusiasts drawn to its extensive network of dining venues, boutiques, and historic hotels. Key thoroughfares such as the pedestrian-only Lincoln Road mall, vibrant Ocean Drive, and Collins Avenue offer lively commercial, architectural, and nightlife appeal. The district serves as a notable hub for the LGBT community and hosts major annual events ranging from art fairs to film, fashion, and food festivals.
