When you visit the Arizona Commemorative Air Force Museum at Falcon Field in Mesa, Arizona, you step into one of the largest Commemorative Air Force units in the world. Originally opened in 1978, this museum preserves military aviation history with a diverse collection of World War II artifacts, military helicopters, classic American combat planes, and post-WWII jet fighters.

As you arrive, you will spot a B-29 Super Fortress propeller, a 3-inch Mark 33 deck gun from the USS Guam, and the "Walk of Honor," which features bronze plaques celebrating Arizonans' contributions to military aviation. Inside the main hangar, you can view historic warbirds ranging from World War I-era replicas to iconic World War II aircraft like the Douglas C-47 Skytrain "Old Number 30" and the B-25 Mitchell "Maid in the Shade." You can also explore post-war jets like the MiG-21 and F-4N Phantom II, as well as pilot jackets and warbird artifacts.

Right next door, the Mechanics Hangar gives you a glimpse into where aircraft are repaired and restored, while flying-condition planes sit outside on the airfield, offering you an unforgettable encounter with living military aviation history.
