Asian Culture Center 🇰🇷

Located in Gwangju, South Korea, the Asia Culture Center (ACC) is the largest cultural complex in South Korea and serves as an international hub for research, art, and cultural exchange. Opened in November 2015 under South Korea's Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, this massive complex was created to foster cooperation and understanding across Asian countries. When you visit, you will explore a thoughtfully designed space split between preserved historic above-ground architecture and modern underground additions.

The site specifically honors the 1980 Gwangju Uprising (the May 18 Democratization Movement), with its main building housed in the former South Jeolla provincial office. Across the complex, you can experience dynamic programs spanning exhibitions, performances, educational events, and research facilities. You will encounter five main buildings: ACC Culture Exchange, ACC Children, ACC Archive & Research, ACC Creation, and ACC Theater.
