Located along the Big Sioux River just north of downtown Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Falls Park spans over 128 acres of natural beauty and rich local history. When you visit, you will witness an astounding average of 7,400 gallons of water tumbling 100 feet per second over the city's signature waterfalls. To take in the best perspectives of the surging waters, step onto the viewing platforms or head up the five-story observation tower, which is connected to the visitor center.

Beyond the natural sights, the park holds some of the city's oldest structures. Explore the remains of the Queen Bee Mill, a massive seven-story Sioux quartzite structure opened in 1881 that once processed 1,500 bushels of wheat daily. You can also visit a historic quartzite barn, owned by the city since 1917 and originally used to stable city work animals, which now houses the Stockyards Ag Experience museum and learning center.

Finish your outing at the Falls Overlook Café, situated right inside a 1908 hydroelectric plant across the river from the tower. It provides a unique setting to relax after exploring the park's historic landmarks.
