Located at No. 7 Flower Lane near the East Street Crossroads in Fuzhou's Gulou District, Flower Lane Church offers you a fascinating look into the region's rich architectural and religious history. Originally established in 1915 on the site of a Qing Dynasty Ryukyuan king's mansion, this site stands as the first Methodist church built inside Fuzhou's historic walled city. When you visit, you will experience a captivating blend of historic and modern design.

The heart of the site features an impressive 1938 granite chapel designed by local architect Lin Jixi, capable of holding around 1,000 congregants. Right adjacent to this historic monument, you will discover a modern community center completed by German architect Dirk U. Moench. As you explore the grounds, look out for the expansive main service hall—designed for over 1,500 people—which houses the largest pipe organ found in a Chinese church.

Beyond hosting religious services, this versatile modern space opens its doors to the general public for music concerts. You can also see additional modern amenities including prayer venues, libraries, study areas, and an outdoor roof amphitheater. It is a unique destination bridging Fuzhou's storied past with contemporary community life.
