You will find the Hebei Museum located on South Zhongshan Street in Shijiazhuang, the capital city of Hebei Province, China. Standing as the only provincial-level museum in Hebei, its primary function centers entirely on collecting and exhibiting ancient cultural relics. First established in April 1953 in Baoding, the institution moved twice during the 1980s before reopening at its present site in October 1987.

Spanning an expansive exhibition area of approximately 20,000 square metres (220,000 square feet), this impressive space showcases a massive collection of nearly 150,000 cultural relics that you can explore during your visit. As you walk through the galleries, you will encounter extraordinary historical treasures. Among the top artifacts to see are the incredible Western Han jade burial suits sewn with gold thread, excavated from the famous Mancheng tombs of Liu Sheng and his wife Dou Wan.

You can also view the magnificent Changxin Palace lantern, which was recovered from Dou Wan's tomb, along with a fascinating 2300-year-old bronze lamp discovered in the tomb of King Cuo of Zhongshan. It offers an incredible look at ancient Chinese history.
