Located at 2648 West Grand Boulevard near the New Center area, this iconic site is where founder Berry Gordy Jr. converted a former photography studio into a legendary recording hub starting in 1959. Today, the property operates as the popular Motown Museum, offering you an incredible look into the legacy of the famous record label, its artists, and its music.

During your visit, you can explore the connected original houses featuring exhibits, photos, authentic costumes, and gold records from Motown’s success era. You can walk through Studio A, carefully preserved alongside an 1877 Steinway and Sons Model D grand piano played by the Funk Brothers studio band. You will also see Berry Gordy’s upstairs living quarters, decorated to appear as they did during the 1960s when he lived above the offices.
