Khazret Sultan Mosque

Located on the right bank of the Yesil River in Astana, Kazakhstan, the Hazrat Sultan Mosque is a striking Friday mosque named "Hazrat Sultan" (meaning "Holy Sultan") in honor of the Sufi sheikh Khoja Ahmed Yasavi. Adjacent to the Palace of Peace and Reconciliation, the "Kazakh Eli" monument, and Independence Square, this impressive site spans over 11 hectares with a construction area of 17,700 square meters. When you explore the mosque, you will see four 77-meter minarets standing at its corners and a massive 80-meter spire crowned with a crescent directed strictly towards Mecca. The structure features eight small domes alongside the largest main dome in Kazakhstan, which towers at a height of 51 meters with a base diameter of 28.1 meters. Inside, the grand venue accommodates 5,000 worshipers daily and up to 10,000 during holidays.

Beyond its magnificent exterior, the building serves a functional role for the community, housing dedicated spaces for bathing rituals, weddings, halls for reading the Quran, and rooms designed for educational groups.
