Designed by the famous Boller Brothers architects, this historic venue blends pseudo-Moorish and Spanish Renaissance styles. Its unique name was created using the initials of builder E.
John Greer's six grandchildren. During its golden era from the 1930s to the 1960s, the venue served as a bustling centerpiece for vaudeville and cinema, hosting legendary stars such as Judy Garland, Rita Hayworth, Roy Rogers, Errol Flynn, and Ronald Reagan. Following a comprehensive $9 million restoration completed in April 2001, the Lensic was transformed into Santa Fe's flagship performance space.
The renovation meticulously restored its original architectural and ornamental details while expanding the stage house and adding advanced lighting and sound systems. Today, you can visit to experience a vibrant mix of events, from concerts, dance, and theater to classical film screenings. The venue hosts top-tier groups like the Santa Fe Chamber Music Festival, the Santa Fe Symphony Orchestra and Chorus, the Aspen Santa Fe Ballet, and Performance Santa Fe.
