Set in a former private mansion constructed in 1878 for Russian Princess Elizaveta Vasilievna Kochubey, the Musée des Beaux-Arts Jules Chéret offers a lovely cultural journey at 33 av. des Baumettes in Nice, France. Originally opened on January 7, 1928, as the "Palais des Arts Jules Chéret," this small museum honors the famed artist who spent his final years living and working along the French Riviera. When you visit, you will encounter a rich art collection spanning four centuries of creative history.

As you wander through its grand rooms, you can explore beautiful paintings by Chéret alongside works by other local masters like Alexis Mossa and his son Gustav-Adolf Mossa, both of whom served as museum curators for many years. Art lovers will appreciate the impressive variety of masterworks on display, featuring celebrated painters such as Jean-Honoré Fragonard, Pierre Bonnard, Raoul Dufy, Kees van Dongen, Marie Bashkirtseff, Édouard Vuillard, and Jan Brueghel the Elder. Beyond canvas, this intimate destination showcases striking sculptures created by Auguste Rodin, Jean-Baptiste Carpeaux, François Rude, and Michel de Tarnowsky, as well as unique ceramic pieces by Pablo Picasso.

It is a wonderfully rewarding stop on your Riviera itinerary.
