Located in Forest Park in St. Louis, Missouri, the Saint Louis Art Museum (SLAM) stands inside the historic Cass Gilbert-designed Palace of Fine Arts building, which expanded in 2013 with a Sir David Chipperfield-designed facility. Housing over 34,000 objects ranging from antiquity to the present day, SLAM welcomes up to half a million visitors annually with free admission funded through a local cultural tax district subsidy.

When you visit, you can explore nine distinct collection areas covering American art, ancient and Egyptian antiquities, Asian art, Islamic works, European art, and Modern and Contemporary pieces. You will discover famous masterworks by Matisse, Gauguin, Monet, Picasso, and Van Gogh, alongside the world's largest collection of paintings by Max Beckmann. The museum also showcases renowned collections of Oceanic, Mesoamerican, and post-war German art, handwoven Turkish rugs, Egyptian mummies, and the largest U.S. museum holdings of George Caleb Bingham paintings.

Don't miss site-specific installations like Andy Goldsworthy's native limestone arches, Stone Sea, situated between the old and new structures, as well as dynamic rotating contemporary exhibitions from the Currents series, new media art, and works on paper.
