As the very first amusement park in the Six Flags chain, Six Flags Over Texas is a 212-acre park located in Arlington, Texas, between Fort Worth and Dallas. Opened in 1961, this historic destination originally drew inspiration from Disneyland and got its name from the six governing entities that ruled Texas over its history. When you visit, you can explore distinct themed sections and experience landmark attractions that made theme park history.

You can ride world-first creations like El Aserradero, the original Arrow Development log flume, and the Runaway Mine Train roller coaster. Coaster enthusiasts will love the New Texas Giant, which debuted as the world's first RMC I-Box hybrid coaster. Thrill seekers can also take on Tormenta Rampaging Run, Texas's tallest and fastest roller coaster standing at 309 feet, or brave the Texas Skyscreamer swing ride.
If you prefer high vantage points, you can check out the 300-foot Oil Derrick observation tower, recognized as the largest land-based oil derrick. Depending on when you visit, you might also experience seasonal holiday events like October's Halloween Fright Fest or the festive Holiday in the Park, featuring lights, shows, and sledding.
