Located in the commune of Les Avenières within the Isère department, Walibi Rhône-Alpes stands as the largest theme park in the Rhône-Alpes region of France. Covering a spacious 35-hectare site, this regional destination greets over 400,000 visitors yearly. The park originally opened to the public in 1979 under the name Avenir Land. It was later acquired by the Belgian Walibi group in 1989, which renamed the destination Walibi Rhône-Alpes and introduced Walibi as its signature mascot.
Over the decades, the destination has changed hands several times across international entertainment operators. It was purchased by Six Flags in 1998 during an international expansion, then sold to Star Parks in 2004, and finally transferred to French operator Compagnie des Alpes in 2006. Today, Compagnie des Alpes owns and operates the venue alongside numerous other European theme parks and ski resorts. Financial records indicate the park achieved an income of 8.8 million euros during 2005.
Walibi Rhône-Alpes offers visitors more than 33 rides and attractions. Beginning in the 2010s, the park received regular investments to enhance its immersive layout, introducing roller coasters such as Timber in a farm-themed zone and Mystic anchoring a horror retheme. The venue previously featured a water park called Aqualibi, created in 1986 and later remade as the Caribbean-themed L'Île aux Pirates. That water park closed after the 2019 season and was transformed into Exotic Land for 2022.

Ticket prices for Walibi Rhône-Alpes change by date and season, and the park sells single-day, multi-day and annual passes — buying online in advance is almost always cheaper than at the gate, and popular dates can sell out. Check the official site for live pricing before you travel.
