Located in northern Jinan within Shandong province, Jinan Zoo—formerly Taurus Park—is one of Eastern China's largest zoos. Established in 1959, this large-scale destination hosts over 5,000 animals spanning more than 300 species across four specialized zones: animal display, entertainment, education, and catering. You will encounter native Chinese wildlife alongside exotic species.

Standouts include giant pandas, golden snub-nosed monkeys, Asian elephants, takins, red foxes, Francois' langurs, and white-lipped deer. You can also view grey wolves, white tigers, Bengal tigers, giraffes, leopards, and gorillas. Stroll through five hectares of lush bamboo forest planted in the 1970s, visit a free-roaming peacock area added in 1999, or explore a walk-through herbivore natural habitat exhibit built to simulate natural environments.

Designed to facilitate learning, animal breeding, and interactive experiences, Jinan Zoo attracts over one million annual visitors. Positioned right near the Jinan Planetarium, it offers a vibrant day out where you can discover fascinating wildlife while observing dedicated conservation and breeding efforts firsthand.
