Imam Muhammad ibn Abd al-Wahhab Mosque 🇶🇦

Located in Doha's Lejbailat district, the Imam Muhammad ibn Abd al-Wahhab Mosque—also known as the Qatar State Mosque—serves as the national mosque of Qatar. As you step onto the grounds, you will notice a magnificent blend of traditional Arab style and modern features spanning 175,164 square meters. The mosque can accommodate a total congregation of 30,000 people, featuring a centrally air-conditioned prayer hall for 11,000 men and an adjacent enclosure for 1,200 women.

When you explore the exterior, you will see polished earth-colored marble covering the courtyard and arcades, surrounded by a lush green belt of trees covering 47,362 square meters. Look up to admire 96 total domes, including 28 large domes over the central hall and 65 small domes shading the outer arcades. Inside, 28 multi-layered circular copper chandeliers hang 14 meters high, illuminating the vast space.

The mosque features three primary entrances, 17 side entrances, advanced sound systems designed to minimize echo, and an 11-meter-tall white marble mihrab centered on the southern wall. Steps and ramps connect the facilities, while a unique water service design draws inspiration from Qatar's traditional freshwater resources.
