Honduran Aviation Museum

Located across five hectares at Toncontín International Airport in Tegucigalpa, the Honduran Aviation Museum (Museo del Aire de Honduras) offers aviation enthusiasts and curious travelers a fascinating look into the nation's flight history. Established as a foundation in August 2000 and opened to the public in September 2002, this specialized facility is dedicated to storing, preserving, restoring, and displaying historical aircraft and aeronautical artifacts. When you visit, you will explore both an indoor exhibition room and an impressive outdoor park displaying a collection of twenty-five aircraft, mostly sourced from the Honduran Air Force alongside private donations.

The indoor spaces also showcase historical appliances, rare photographs, documents, and historical video recordings. Highlighting the museum's rare artifacts, you can view the world's only remaining North American NA-42—which is also the oldest surviving aircraft from the T-6 family. Additionally, you will see the famous Vought F4U-5N Corsair (FAH-609), flown by Fernando Soto Henríquez during the 1969 Football War between El Salvador and Honduras, renowned for participating in the final combat between piston-engine fighters.
