You can step into a piece of local history at the Dnipro Academic Drama and Comedy Theatre, one of the oldest theatres in Dnipro, Ukraine. Recognized as a 19th-century city theatre and architectural monument, this venue offers visitors a chance to experience deep-rooted theatrical traditions. Originally built in 1847 as the lavishly furnished, two-story Winter Theatre, the site was officially established in 1927 at Lazar Hloba Park and has since survived significant historical turmoil.

Although completely damaged during World War II, the venue was carefully reconstructed in 1956 to restore its pre-war design. Over the decades, its stage has hosted renowned artists like Feodor Chaliapin, Leonid Sobinov, and Ivan Patorzhinsky in front of crowds of up to 1,200 spectators. Today, under the guidance of creative director Serhii Mazani and principal director Anton Serhiiovych Mezhenin, you can see a varied repertory featuring both classic and contemporary authors.

The theatre also remains culturally active on international stages, having performed works like Maidan Inferno at Kosovo's PrizrenFest, and continues its legacy of artistic community support. Visit to admire its historic architecture and experience authentic Ukrainian drama and comedy productions.
