Located in the central area of Kanpur District near Phool Bagh and the LIC Building, Nana Rao Park—historically known as Memorial Well or Company Bagh—offers you a deeply historic outdoor space to explore in Uttar Pradesh's industrial hub. Built after Indian independence in honor of Nana Sahib, the park sits on the site of the 1857 Bibighar massacre. Today, under the care of the Kanpur Municipal Corporation, this well-maintained city park seamlessly combines rich history with active local life.
As you walk through its lush greenery, you can still observe the remains of a circular ridge from the original well. You will also discover statues of prominent Indian freedom struggle leaders, including Rani Lakshmi Bai, Lala Lajpat Rai, Ajizan Bai, and Tatya Tope. History enthusiasts can view Boodhha Bargad, an ancient banyan tree deeply connected to the independence movement.
