Step onto the historic grounds of Rendezvous Park in Mesa, Arizona, a site deeply rooted in American baseball lore. Originally established around 1895 as Depot Park near a local railway station, this location evolved from a popular 1912 baseball spot into a cornerstone of Cactus League history.

You will be visiting the former spring training home of Major League Baseball icons, including the Chicago Cubs (who trained here from 1952 to 1965) and the Oakland Athletics (from 1969 to 1976). Though the original ballpark featured modest amenities—like cramped clubhouses, a manual right-field scoreboard, and wooden box seats brought in from Los Angeles' Wrigley Field—it hosted legend-filled spring matchups and NCAA Regionals.

While the stadium was demolished in 1976 to make way for the original Hohokam Stadium, visiting the area today allows you to explore how this iconic sports hub was transformed. The redeveloped grounds now host the Mesa Convention and Conference Center, along with a library and hotel, offering a unique trip through Mesa's civic evolution and legendary sports past.
