Dubai is built for families — indoor snow, giant aquariums, desert adventures and beaches, much of it air-conditioned against the heat. The trick is to plan around the temperature and mix the headline thrills with beach and downtime. These are the sights kids love most.

Start with pure spectacle: the Dubai Fountain & Dubai Mall combine a free evening fountain show with a mall that holds a huge aquarium, an ice rink and endless treats — an easy, cool half-day. For a genuine wow, take them to Ski Dubai, a real indoor snow park with slopes, toboggans and penguins inside a mall, and up the Dubai Frame, a giant golden picture frame with a glass skywalk and old-versus-new city views.

Get outdoors when it cools: a desert safari is a big hit — dune-bashing, camel rides and sandboarding under a huge sky — and the beaches of Palm Jumeirah are made for a swim and a sandcastle. For a gentler, cheaper adventure, ride the abra across Old Dubai & the Creek and let them haggle for spices in the souks.

Between sights, respect the heat: do outdoor plans early or late and keep midday for the cool indoor attractions and malls. Distances are big, so build the day around a couple of anchors rather than dashing about. Each guide below has ticket details, how long to budget and the best time to visit, so you can plan a Dubai day the whole family enjoys.

A few practical notes for families: heat is the real planning factor, so front-load outdoor plans — the desert safari, the beaches, the fountain — into mornings and evenings, and use the air-conditioned attractions and malls during the scorching midday. Book Ski Dubai, the Frame and the Burj Khalifa online to skip queues, use taxis or the Metro for the big distances, and carry water and sun protection everywhere. Most malls have huge play zones for a hot-afternoon reset.
