Why Singida
Singida is an urban center located in the central part of Tanzania. It functions as the administrative headquarters for both the surrounding Singida Region and the Singida Urban District, with both regional and district territories taking their names from the city itself. According to official census data from 2012, the population of the Singida Urban District was recorded at 150,379 residents.
The city offers visitors specific points of interest that highlight its natural environment and regional heritage. Just outside the main town area lies Lake Singida, a body of saline water known for drawing various avian species. Birdwatching is a popular activity around the lake, where large populations of flamingos and pelicans can frequently be observed.

Additionally, a branch line connects Singida's rail system to Manyoni on the main Central Line railway, and regional air travel is accommodated by the Singida Airstrip, situated northwest of town near the B141 route.
