You will find the historic Arcos de Guadalajara standing proudly as a striking monument in Guadalajara, Jalisco. Built between 1939 and 1959, this impressive landmark was commissioned by Governor Silvano Barba to commemorate the 400th anniversary of the city's creation. Designed by architect Aurelio Aceves, the structure takes inspiration from the famous Arc de Triomphe and its Beaux-Arts neoclassical style, reflecting an era when Mexican cities drew aesthetic influences from France and Italy while forging a unique national architectural identity.

When you visit, you will observe two massive arches measuring eight meters wide and 14 meters high, expertly decorated in handmade tiles. Look closely at each arch to see the engraved coat of arms alongside the welcoming inscription, "Guadalaraja Hospitalaria." Resting directly atop these arches is a second substructure known as the Hall of Flags. You can head up to this featured space, which serves as a memorable viewpoint offering direct sights out toward the center of Norte Vallarta.
