Welcome to Barefoot Park (Parque de los Pies Descalzos), a unique zen-inspired public space located in the administrative area of Medellín, Colombia. Funded by EPM and designed by visionary architect Felipe Uribe de Bedout between 1998 and 2000, this urban sanctuary invites you to slow down, connect with nature, and step out of your everyday routine. As its charming name suggests, the park features a playful atmosphere where both children and adults are actively encouraged to remove their shoes and explore the surroundings entirely barefoot.
When you visit, you will find distinct zones crafted to engage your senses. You can wander through tranquil green spaces featuring lush gardens and tall bamboo, sink your toes into soft sand, or refresh yourself in the soothing water fountain area. Beyond its relaxing natural elements, Barefoot Park sits in a vibrant cultural setting adjacent to the Medellín River and the Medellín Metropolitan Theatre.
The park grounds also house the Interactive Museum EPM, an engaging interactive science museum that adds an educational element to your outdoor outing. Whether you want to splash in the water fountains or walk on the sand, Barefoot Park offers you an inviting, hands-on escape in Medellín.
