When you visit Medellín, Colombia, step into the Joaquin Antonio Uribe Botanical Garden, a vibrant 14-hectare oasis rooted in rich history. Once a nineteenth-century farm named The Bathhouse of Eden, this property was later saved from demolition and transformed into a lush sanctuary. Today, you can explore a diverse environment home to 4,500 flowers and 139 recorded bird species.

As you wander the grounds, you will encounter a butterfly house, a cactus garden, exhibition spaces, a museum, an auditorium, a library, and a peaceful pond. You can also take advantage of the park's spacious dining areas during your visit. A major highlight is the remarkable Orchideorama, a 65-foot-high architectural masterpiece designed by Plan B Architects and JPRCR Architects following a local design competition.

This impressive structure features a wood meshwork canopy built from ten hexagonal flower-tree structures that collect rainwater while sheltering an important preserved collection of orchids and butterfly reserves. From its entrance pavilion designed by Lorenzo Castro and Ana Elvira Vélez to its serene natural exhibits, the garden offers you a unique look at Medellín's floral heritage, modern architectural innovation, and local wildlife all in one location.
