Nestled in the scenic Mingfeng Mountains of Kunming’s Panlong District, Golden Temple Park (also known as Jindian Park) offers you a fascinating look into Taoist heritage and ancient craftsmanship. As the largest bronze temple in China and one of the oldest, this remarkable site is constructed from over 200 tons of bronze. Originally conceived during the Ming Dynasty in 1602 when bronze earmarked for coinage was repurposed, the structure was later rebuilt under General Wu Sangui during the reign of the Kangxi Emperor, mirroring the famed Taoist design of Hubei's Wudang Mountains.

As you explore the grounds, you will marvel at the temple's cast wall panels, which feature exquisite and diverse patterns that showcase well-preserved Qing Dynasty smelting techniques. Behind the main temple, make sure to visit the impressive three-story bell tower. It houses a massive historic bell cast in 1424 during the Yongle Emperor's reign, measuring 2.1 meters tall and 6.7 meters in circumference.

To complete your visit, wander through the peaceful gardens added during recent park expansions, where you can admire vibrant plant life and peaceful displays in the dedicated Parrot Garden, Camellia Garden, and Orchid Garden.
