Lianhuashan Park

Lianhuashan Park, also known as Lotus Hill Park, is a scenic 150-hectare (370-acre) urban park and hill located at the northern end of Shenzhen's Futian Central Business District. Inaugurated in 1997, it offers visitors a peaceful green escape while anchoring a monumental perspective that evokes the urban design patterns of Imperial China. When you visit, the central focus of your trip will be the hilltop, where a prominent 6-meter-high, six-ton bronze statue of former Chinese leader Deng Xiaoping stands.

Created by sculptor Teng Wenjing and unveiled in November 2000, the statue depicts Deng walking briskly—symbolizing his philosophy that the step of reform and opening-up should be bigger. Below the statue, you can inspect a pedestal featuring calligraphy by Jiang Zemin, who unveiled the monument. Over the years, this historic site has drawn notable leaders, including Premier Li Keqiang and CCP general secretary Xi Jinping, who visited to pay homage to Deng's pivotal role in Shenzhen's rapid development.
