Located in Karachi's City Railway Colony, the MagnifiScience Centre (MSC) is an independent, non-profit science center where you can engage directly with hands-on learning. Opened in 2021 by The Dawood Foundation, this modern, eco-friendly venue spreads across four levels designed to make science accessible to everyone, including disabled visitors and marginalized communities. You will discover over 400 interactive exhibits exploring physics, light, sound, illusions, human biology, astronomy, engineering, and mathematics.
The displays seamlessly connect scientific concepts to everyday life in Pakistan, showcasing Karachi's architecture, transport, food sources, and local coastal ecosystems like an indoor mangrove simulation. As you explore the grounds, you will also spot historical connections to the city's past: the venue sits on a former 1888 colonial warehouse site, featuring restored stone boundary walls and a gatehouse from the British Raj era. Outside, you can stroll through the Science Garden, complete with indigenous plants, a natural maze, a playground, and an educational pond.
Whether you are catching a documentary screening in the auditorium or solving interactive puzzles, visiting this vibrant center offers an inspiring look at informal STEM education in Pakistan.
