Manila Zoological and Botanical Garden

Located in Malate, Manila, Philippines, the Manila Zoological and Botanical Garden is a 5.5-hectare city landmark managed by the Manila City Government's Public Recreation Bureau. First opened in July 1959, this classic urban attraction underwent extensive redevelopment before fully reopening to the public in November 2022. When you visit, you will encounter more than 549 specimens of exotic wildlife across four main categories: mammals, birds, reptiles, and aquatic life.

Among the zoo's key highlights is a White Siberian Tiger named Kois, an anagram of former Manila Mayor Isko Moreno. Right at the entrance, you can also view the taxidermized remains of Ma'ali, the famous Asian female elephant who lived at the zoo for decades before passing away in November 2023. Beyond animal exhibits like the Reptile House and Outdoor Reptiles, the facility houses an Animal Museum, Butterfly Garden, Children's Park, and Zoo Lagoon.
