Museum of Cham Sculpture 🇻🇳

Located near the Han River in the Hải Châu District of Đà Nẵng, central Vietnam, the Museum of Cham Sculpture offers you an extraordinary window into history. As a popular tourist destination, it houses the world's largest collection of Cham sculpture. Before the official establishment of the museum, the site was known as a "garden of sculptures" where collected pieces from Đà Nẵng, Quảng Nam, and surrounding areas gathered over twenty years. First proposed in 1902 by the Department of Archaeology of EFEO and spearheaded by archaeologist Henri Parmentier, it officially opened its doors in 1919.

When you walk through the grounds, you can admire architectural work designed by French architects M. Deleval and M. Auclair, who incorporated traditional Cham elements into their original composition. Over the decades, expansions have added dedicated gallery spaces arranged by geographic origin, including collections from Mỹ Sơn, Trà Kiệu, Đồng Dương, Tháp Mẫm, Quang Tri, Quảng Ngãi, Bình Định, and Kon Tum.

A two-story expansion in 2002 further expanded display areas alongside a library and restoration workshop. You will love exploring this rich heritage preserved right in the heart of Đà Nẵng.
