Located at 3 Duy Tân in Da Nang, the Zone 5 Military Museum offers you a comprehensive look into Vietnamese resistance against foreign occupation. Your visit takes you through centuries of history, covering everything from historic Chinese occupation and the First Indochina War with the French to the Vietnam War and ongoing standoffs over the Spratly and Paracel Islands. The extensive complex features four distinct sections for you to explore.
Outdoors, you can walk among heavy military gear, including a captured Cessna A-37 Dragonfly light aircraft, MiG-21 fighters, M48A3 Patton tanks, a BLU-82 "Daisy Cutter" bomb, and a Bell UH-1 Huey helicopter. Inside the military museum, you will encounter detailed exhibits covering key historic events like the Battle of Ia Drang, Operation Starlite, and the Hue–Da Nang Campaign. You will also view photographic evidence supporting Vietnam's island claims alongside moving memorials dedicated to national leaders like Ho Chi Minh and Võ Nguyên Giáp, regional heroes, and mothers who lost their children to war.
The complex is rounded out by a dedicated Ho Chi Minh Museum and a full-scale reproduction of Ho Chi Minh's home in Hanoi.
