Old North Church 🇺🇸

Built in 1723, Old North Church—officially Christ Church in the City of Boston—is the oldest standing church building in Boston, Massachusetts. Located on Salem Street in the historic North End neighborhood, this iconic Georgian-style structure is famous for its pivotal role in Paul Revere’s midnight ride on April 18, 1775. It was here that two lanterns were lit in the steeple to warn Patriots of British troop movements during the American Revolutionary War.

Today, you can visit this active Episcopal church and National Historic Landmark situated along Boston's Freedom Trail. Inside the imposing sanctuary, you will discover a rectangular nave with two levels of pews, an organ, a pulpit, ceiling murals, and four angel sculptures donated in 1746. Beneath the main floor lies a crypt where an estimated 1,100 people are interred.

Outside, you can wander through connected paths and peaceful gardens, including the 18th Century Garden, the Washington Memorial Garden, and the Memorial Garden displaying dog tags for fallen service members.
